Biography ~ Karen Long

Karen has been a resident of Aldergrove since moving here with her family in 1989. She has enjoyed watching her children group in Aldergrove, attend school and participate in local sports. Now as a grandmother Karen is looking forward to creating lasting memories with her grandchildren.

Community and volunteering is a large part of Karen's life. It all started about 25 years ago while she was at work at her business, Aldergrove Office Products. • Aldergrove Festival Days Society
    • Aldergrove Rotary

    • BC Summer Games - Security Directorate.

In 2013 Karen was awarded the Township of Langley, Eric Flowerdew Volunteer Award and in 2007 was the recipient of the Aldergrove, Hilda Reddick Community Volunteer Award.

Karen is currently the President of the BC Farm Museum Association and the Langley Volunteer Bureau and Executive Director of the Aldergrove Agricultural Fair and Festival Association. She helps organize:

"Contributing to and supporting community partnerships is very important to me, because by doing so, one contributes to building a place that one is proud to live in, to work and to raise your family."

"It wasn't the reward that mattered or the recognition you might harvest. It was your depth of commitment, your quality of service, the product of your devotion -- these were the things that counted in life. When you gave purely, the honor came in the giving, and that was honor enough." --Captain Scott O'Grady
